2024 Carmel Mountain Ranch Little League

Registration for Rookies through Majors Divisions ends on January 7, 2024. Tee Ball registration ends on January 26, 2024 and teams will be formed shortly after closing.

Assessments for all players in these divisions will be held on January 13, 2024 and January 17, 2024 (make up day)

Please email player[email protected] if you are unable to make either of these dates.

**Notice from the Board**

After careful review and consideration, we recently voted to increase registration fees for the 2024 season. The current fees are in line with other local little leagues and will help fund planned initiatives and improvements we have in store for 2024 and beyond. They include:

  • Laser leveling & professional maintenance for 3 main fields
  • Outfitting coaches and teams with new equipment (tees, wiffles, cones, etc.)
  • Coach and Player clinics
  • Installing sun shades for spectators at Sabre Springs fields
  • Upgrading batting cages

Volunteer Deposit ($50)

Our league is completely run by volunteers. To encourage all families to participate and volunteer, we are charging a $50 volunteer deposit per family that is fully refundable in one of two ways: sign up and volunteer at the snack shack at least once during the season, or help out at a scheduled field clean up day prior to the season. We will email sign-up information as the season nears.

DIVISIONS OFFERED:*Age based on 2024 Little League Age Chart.

Tee Ball (ages 4-7): An inning is defined as one time through the batting order (not 3 outs). All players bat in each inning and all players play the field each inning. Coaches are allowed on the field with the players. The two main goals are to have fun and to start to learn the basics of baseball. Emphasis is given to throwing and catching. Hitting is done from a batting tee for the first half of the season while the coaches soft pitch for the second half of the season (each coach pitches to their own team). No score is kept and competition is minimized. This is a great time for LOTS of parent help!! You would be surprised how many people it takes to handle a dozen players at this age. No special skills are needed to help out so please volunteer if you can. No tryouts are held; players just sign up and are assigned to a team by the Tee Ball Coordinator and the Player Agent.

Time Commitment: Tee Ball will start out with one weekday practice and one Saturday practice, then converts to a weekday practice and a Saturday game when game play begins. Weekday practice assignment will be totally dependent upon our volunteer coaches and field availability, but will be between 4 and 6pm. Game times on Saturday will be a random assignment, but can be anywhere between 9am - 5pm, likely earlier in the day.

Rookies (ages 6-9): 6-year olds must have played two seasons of Tee ball. All machine pitch.

Time Commitment: Rookies will start out with one weekday practice/batting cage, and one Saturday practice. Once game play begins, there will be one weekday game and one Saturday game with a weekday batting/field practice. Practice days and times will be completely dependent upon volunteer coaches and field availability. Weekday games will most likely be a randomized selection between Tuesday and Thursday. All weekday times will range between 4-7pm, and Saturday games can range from 8am-5pm.

Minors (ages 8-11): 8-year olds must have played two seasons of Rookies. All kid pitch.

Time Commitment: Minors will start out with as many as one weekday batting cage, one field practice, and one Saturday practice. Once game play begins, there will be one weekday game and one Saturday game with a mixture of batting practices and field practices as the Manager sees fit. Practice days and times will be completely dependent upon volunteer coaches and field availability. Weekday games will most likely be a randomized selection between Tuesday and Thursday. All weekday times will range between 4-7pm, and Saturday games can range from 8am-5pm, with one or two night games beginning at 6pm.

Majors (ages 10-12): 10-year olds must have played two seasons of Minors.

Time Commitment: Majors will start out with as many as one weekday batting cage, one field practice, and one Saturday practice. All weekday times will range between 5-9pm, and Saturday games can range from 8am-9pm.

Intermediate/Juniors (ages 12-14): 12 year olds, historically, have never played Intermediate in CMRLL so Intermediate will be made up of all 13 year olds. Juniors will be a combination of 13-14 year olds. We are currently gathering an interest list for these divisions so registration for these two divisions are currently not open at this time and not guaranteed. If you would like to participate in either of these divisions, please fill out a 2024 CMRLL Intermediate/Juniors Interest List form.

Time Commitment: Completely dependent upon volunteer coach's availability. Game schedule will include one weekday game and one Saturday game with game locations ranging throughout North County District 31 leagues. Home games will be played at Highland Ranch Elementary.
Expect to hear from your player’s coach by February 1, 2024 with practices beginning the first week of February. Opening Ceremonies will be March 1st with games beginning on March 2nd!

WHAT DOES MY REGISTRATION GO TOWARDS

Carmel Mountain Ranch Little League has always tried to make registration as affordable as possible for our families. ·   Insurance
·   Field Permits
·   Field Maintenance
·   Game Uniforms (Hat, Jersey, Belt)
·   Annual Equipment Refresh (Baseballs and as needed: Buckets, Catcher's Gear, etc.)
